Your gardening battery if you do too much!

Gardening in the middle of summer can really run down our batteries, especially if you’re like me and have some chronic health issues.

  • You don’t have to do everything at once - it’s okay to plant just a single plant every few days even if you have more!
  • I overheat easily. So, I garden for sometimes just five minutes a night, after dark with a headlamp. So much nicer!
  • Plant perennial native species in winter (November to March). Then you don’t have to water them except at planting. This reduces stress on both you and the plants.
